MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. & LIBERTYVILLE, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) and Motorola Mobility Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: MMI) today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Google will acquire Motorola Mobility for $40.00 per share in cash, or a total of about $12.5 billion, a premium of 63% to the closing price of Motorola Mobility shares on Friday, August 12, 2011. The transaction was unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both companies.

The acquisition of Motorola Mobility, a dedicated Android partner, will enable Google to supercharge the Android ecosystem and will enhance competition in mobile computing. Motorola Mobility will remain a licensee of Android and Android will remain open. Google will run Motorola Mobility as a separate business.

Andy Rubin, Senior Vice President of Mobile at Google, said, “We expect that this combination will enable us to break new ground for the Android ecosystem. However, our vision for Android is unchanged and Google remains firmly committed to Android as an open platform and a vibrant open source community. We will continue to work with all of our valued Android partners to develop and distribute innovative Android-powered devices.”

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including the receipt of regulatory approvals in the US, the European Union and other jurisdictions, and the approval of Motorola Mobility’s stockholders. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2011 or early 2012.

Google Plus launched a new feature, "Gaming Channel"

We all know that the launch of Google Plus, the search giant trying to compete with Facebook. Now here is the one more feature Google Plus Games launched on 11th august. Just as in Facebook, Google+ users will now be able to play games such as Angry Birds, Zynga Poker, and Crime City — and bug their friends with notices of their latest achievements and high scores.

But Google promised Thursday there’s a difference between its network and Facebook’s — those notifications won’t show up in the general “stream” of updates users see. So you’ll only run across your friends’ gaming-centered notifications when you go to play a game yourself.

For example, "Angry Birds" takes social a step further, introducing a new series of levels called Teamwork. Having more friends playing "Angry Birds" through Google Plus will allow you to unlock more levels. The game also tracks the total number of stars your friends have earned, as a means of unlocking even more content.


Google Plus Games is a free service available to anyone with a Google Plus account. At present, there are 16 games, many of which have already made a splash on Facebook.

FaceBook Vs Googe Plus

hello everyone. Hope you are doing good. actually this is my first post in this blog regarding latest technology reviews. Today i like to dicuss about the rise of Facebook and initiation of Google plus to compete with facebook. now lets discuss about facebook.

FaceBook:
Facebook is a social networking service and website launched in February 2004, operated and privately owned by Facebook, Inc.Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow computer science students Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.

Rise, Advantages&Issues of FB:
FaceBook has made history in Social Networking Field. As of July 2011, Facebook has more than 750 million active users. It holds the second position in the WWW next to Google.com.
Advantages:
It has very good UI, and it connects the users in the worldwide. Also users can share their comments and pictures etc. It means we can share any messages among the individual or group through the web. Recently FaceBook announced the videocalling feature and the Group chat feature.
Limitations:
There are many issues in the latest upgrade, the main issue is Sidebar ChatWindow. It shows both the online and offline friends that too maximum 20. I really hate this latest upgrade for the Chatwindow. Also using the videocalling feature, we can't make group call.

But so far Facebook is inevitable. Once they're on Facebook, they'll become addicted.

Google Plus:

Google+ is a social networking service operated by Google Inc. The service launched on June 28, 2011. Sources said that this Google's biggest attempt to rival the social network Facebook.

Advantages:
we all know Google Plus from google background which is the main advantage.The most important and useful feature is Hangout. If we start the Hangout, any person can come and Join in your hangout. So using this we can make use of the Group Videocalling with very good video quality. Also we can broadcast the Video through Youtube, so that Hanging out peoples can share their feelings on the videos. Google Plus has very good response in Social Networking. In 20 Days, it has already reached 20 million users.
Limitations:
The User Interface(UI) is little bit worse than compare to facebook. Also sometime gives the feeling of Orkut.

Will Google Plus beat Facebook:
In my Opinion Google plus have to improve more in their features for competing Facebook. But its not easy to beat facebook as facebook beats Orkut. Some facebook features repeats the same in Google plus as "like in FB, +1 in G+". But surely it will give tough to facebook. Lets see!!!
